New York Jets Announce PSL Plan for New Meadowlands Stadium

The New York Jets of he National FOotball League have announced a partnership with online ticket web site Stubhub to auction off personal seat licenses (PSLs) for approximately 2,000 of the “Coaches Club” field-level seats near the 50 yard line of the New Meadowlands Stadium scheduled to open in 2010.   This is the first time a professional sports team has ventured into online auctions for PSLs and opening bids on the licences will be set at $5k.  Winners of the PSL auctions will still have to purchase season tickets for the seats.

The Jets affirmed that although 27,500 upper-level seats will have no PSLs for the Jets, the exact same seats will require a $1k PSL for the Giants. 

The Jets plan to sell other PSLs at the new stadium that will range from $4K-25K.

The New Meadowlands Football Stadium

The new Meadowlands Stadium is currently being built in East Rutherford, New Jersey and designed to fit over 82,500 fans.  With an anticipated opening in time for the NFL football season in 2010,  Meadownlands Stadium will be jointly owned by both theNew York Jets and New York Giants and will be a replacement for Giants Stadium where both teams currently share a stadium.
